The College’s approach to a positive school climate is clear expectations of students, staff and community restorative approaches. We believe in teaching positive behaviours and the use of logical consequences to address appropriate and inappropriate behaviour.
Our PB4L structure is based on the School Wide Positive Behaviour strategy and is implemented through the house and student management programs and in each individual class. Each staff member is actively engaged in developing their understanding and promoting the use of positive behaviours for learning in class and during transition times.
HDSC encourages the active involvement of parents/carers in positive behaviours for learning of each student. It seeks to foster this cooperative approach through student goal setting, celebratory events, reports, parent-teacher interviews, phone calls, meetings and the use of diaries.
